Language

The Wakame sweater is worked from top to bottom and then on circular needles using a seamless technique. The shoulder construction is based on the European shoulder construction, providing a neat finish to the back piece.

The wavy pattern is created by knitting right- and left-leaning cables, forming waves instead of twists. The pattern is repetitive, making it quick to learn and it is recommended to use a row counter if you want to avoid counting every row in your head. There are no purl stitches between the cables, creating a dense fabric. The downside is that it requires more yarn than usual, but on the other hand, you’ll achieve a unique texture in the fabric.

The sleeves are worked in the round, and increases create a slightly bell-shaped sleeve. The shape of the sleeve becomes more defined as the ribbing continues, making the sleeve even wider.
